Laurie Horowitz began her career in Boston where she practiced real estate and family law. She was an agent at Creative Artists Agency for eleven years, specializing in selling literary properties for film and television.
Her novel, THE FAMILY FORTUNE, was published by William Morrow. She has also written two short books (Bookshots) for James Patterson: THE MATING SEASON and LOVE ME TENDER, published by Hachette.
She took her first job teaching fiction when she was still an agent. She taught fiction at Harbor College in San Pedro. She has team-taught a MALS class in screenwriting at Dartmouth College and she taught fiction for five years at Beyond Baroque, a literary foundation in Venice, CA.
She has just finished a television pilot and is currently working on another novel.
